They are comfortable boots, just order a half size bigger than you normally do. They have a lot of padding throughout, which makes for a tighter fit.They gave me some blisters to start with. I'm hoping that, once broken in, they'll be more comfortable in the field. These boots are well made, durable and repairable. Yes they are heavy and some what stiff. Bare in mind that boots form your foundation. I use the Desert Acadia Temperate as my all-a-round boot. The numbers are for army boots. Marine and Air Force specific boots are available.
